Goodwill Names Shawna Engel Vice President of Resource Development
Memphis, Tenn., – Shawna Engel has been named Vice President of Resource Development for Memphis Goodwill, Inc. Engel was previously Vice President for College Advancement at Memphis College of Art, where she was responsible for all aspects of college fundraising and events contributing to revenue. From 2007 to 2013, she was Senior Director of Development at the University of Memphis’ Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, directing the $12 million capital campaign that relocated the law school to downtown Memphis.
In her role, she will development and implement fundraising strategies to support Memphis Goodwill’s goal to expand mission-based programs and services that enable and empower individuals to overcome barriers to employment. Such programs include the innovative Excel Center, a charter high school for adult drop-outs that will open in fall 2015, as well as a network of Goodwill Job Centers.
